Link Health Receives $10,000 United Response Fund Grant to Provide Emergency Food Assistance to Massachusetts Bay Families

BOSTON, MA – December 17th, 2025

Link Health, operating under A Healthier Democracy, was selected by United Way of Massachusetts Bay as a United Response Fund (URF) SNAP Rapid Relief Grantee. The organization received $10,000 to provide direct food assistance to individuals and families in need through grocery gift cards and emergency food support.

The grant addresses the federal government’s recent elimination or reduction in food assistance benefits, specifically SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). Link Health will use the funding to immediately assist vulnerable community members during the grant period from December 8, 2025, to January 16, 2026.

“When SNAP benefits are reduced or eliminated, families feel it immediately,” said Marty Martinez, President and CEO at United Way of Massachusetts Bay. “Through the United Response Fund and the generous support from the community, we’re able to move quickly and partner with organizations like Link Health to ensure families can continue to access food when they need it most.”

The URF SNAP Rapid Relief program was established by United Way of Massachusetts Bay to provide emergency support to organizations working on the front lines of food insecurity. Link Health is among select nonprofits chosen to distribute these vital resources quickly and effectively to those most in need.

“We are honored to be selected as a United Way of Massachusetts Bay grant recipient,” said Ar’Sheill Monsanto, Executive Director of Link Health. “This fall, as a nation, we witnessed the devastation that families face when they aren’t able to put food on the table. This funding will allow us to provide immediate relief to families who are struggling with food insecurity due to a myriad of challenges. Through grocery gift card distribution, we can help ensure that no family in our community goes without meals during this critical time.”
